Retrospective studies suggest that local radiotherapy on the prostate improves overall survival in the metastatic setting, but its benefit in patients with high-burden metastatic disease is still uncertain. We conducted a retrospective study of 100 high-metastatic-burden prostate cancer patients at Hadassah Ein Karem Medical Center from 2004 to 2021. Patients receiving local RT alongside standard treatment were compared to those receiving standard treatment alone.

A Neglected Fracture: Treatment and Infection of Seymour Fractures of the Hallux in the Pediatric Population.

Introduction: Seymour physeal fractures of the distal phalanx of the Hallux in children are common but rarely described in the literature. There is limited literature investigating how these fractures should be specifically treated. Generally, good results are reported when open fractures are treated with debridement and antibiotics.

Outcomes of extracranial stereotactic body radiation therapy for induced oligometastatic non-small cell lung cancer on novel systemic therapy.

Background: Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) is often delivered in patients with oligometastatic disease (OMD). However, the specific subset of patients with polymetastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) on novel systemic therapies who develop induced oligopersistant disease (OpersisD) or oligoprogressive disease (OprogD), as defined by the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) OMD classification, has not been well described. This study explores the outcomes of patients treated with this strategy.

Stereotactic radiosurgery for brain metastases arising from gynecological malignancies: A retrospective treatment outcome analysis.

Background: This retrospective study aims to assess the efficacy of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) in the treatment of brain metastases (BM) originating from gynecological cancers. It focuses on local control (LC), distant tumor control (DTC), and overall survival (OS).

Methods: The analysis comprised 18 individuals with gynecological-origin BM treated with SRS at the Hadassah Medical Center from 2004 to 2021.

New Classification for Pediatric Proximal Fifth Metatarsal Fractures.

Proximal fifth metatarsal fractures are the most common foot fractures in children. Attempts to classify these injuries are misapplied and inadequately predict outcomes. This is the first study to identify factors associated with healing in pediatric fifth metatarsal fractures.
