Accurate tracking of live cells using video microscopy recordings remains a challenging task for popular state-of-the-art image processing-based object tracking methods. In recent years, many applications have attempted to integrate deep-learning frameworks for this task, but most still heavily rely on consecutive frame-based tracking or other premises that hinder generalized learning. To address this issue, we aimed to develop a novel deep-learning-based tracking method that assumes cells can be tracked by their spatio-temporal neighborhood, without a restriction to consecutive frames.

Addiction vulnerability is associated with the tendency to attribute incentive salience to reward predictive cues. Both addiction and the attribution of incentive salience are influenced by environmental and genetic factors. To characterize the genetic contributions to incentive salience attribution, we performed a genome-wide association study (GWAS) in a cohort of 1596 heterogeneous stock (HS) rats.

Background: Proprioceptive accuracy is an important aspect of motor functioning thus understanding how the stress response affects it can broaden our knowledge about the effects of stress on motor performance. There has been published only one quasi-experimental study on this topic to date, reporting a negative association between stress and proprioceptive accuracy. The aim of the present study was to explore whether the stress response influences proprioceptive accuracy in a randomized and controlled experimental setting.

Selecting an appropriate typeface is crucial in typography, web design, and other applications where text readability is essential. A key concept of this topic is legibility, the quality that shows how easy it is to recognize the letters of a particular font set. Previous works have measured legibility by human experiments, which has several limitations; for example, the methodology and circumstances were not entirely uniform, and the results may be distorted by the fatigue of the test subjects.
