The first steps towards the development and characterization of next-generation chirped volume Bragg gratings (CVBGs) by means of fs laser inscription were made. Based on the phase mask inscription technique we realized CVBGs in fused silica with a 3 × 3 mm aperture and a length of almost 12 mm with a chirp rate of ∼190 ps/nm around a central wavelength of 1030.5 nm.

Materials And Methods: It analyzes stable electroencephalographic patterns that allow us to trace a connection between a brain activity and purposeful actions of an individual in various environments. The subjects of the study were experienced downhill skiers equipped with electroencephalographs, who performed real-life skiing on a downhill course, after which they were offered a virtual simulation of downhill skiing using an HTCVive headset and a programmed 2D or desktop simulator.
The present work was aimed at assessing safety and efficacy of hypoxic preconditioning of the brain as a method of protecting the central nervous system during operations on the internal carotid artery in patients presenting with atherosclerotic lesions of the carotid arteries. The study included a total of 72 patients who underwent carotid endarterectomy for haemodynamically significant atherosclerosis of carotid arteries. Based on the obtained findings, a conclusion was made on a possibility of using intraoperative hypoxic preconditioning for prevention of ischaemic complications from the development in the perioperative period.
