Traditionally, multiple radiographic views and techniques were required to elucidate the nature and extent of fractures of the maxillofacial complex. As a result, patient cost in terms of time, expense, manipulation, and radiation exposure scaled upward. Synthesis and interpretation of the fragmented bits of information from multiple films also constituted a labor-intensive process.
