An Evaluation of Whether Routine QTc Interval Screening Is Necessary Prior to Starting ADHD Medications: Experience from a Large Retrospective Study.

Background/objectives: Routine screening electrocardiograms (ECGs) prior to starting medications for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) remain controversial. This real-world study assessed corrected QT (QTc) interval data from pediatric patients who had a baseline ECG performed prior to initiating treatment with ADHD medications and ≥6 months of clinical follow-up.

Methods: A retrospective chart review of children aged 2-18 years diagnosed with ADHD with/without autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at child neurology clinics in Jordan (June 2019 and June 2021) was performed, and children were prescribed with ADHD medications to manage symptoms.

Ectopic adrenocortical adenoma in the abdominal wall linked to the head of the pancreas: A case report.

Introduction: Ectopic adrenocortical adenomas are infrequent adrenal tumors that deviate from their usual location. Herein, we report a case of an ectopic black adrenocortical adenoma situated in the abdominal wall, intricately linked to the head of the pancreas.

Case Presentation: A 27-year-old female presented to the emergency room with severe right iliac pain, nausea, vomiting, and high fever.

Background: Currently, there are no therapies targeting specific pathogenic pathways in myocarditis. IL (interleukin)-1 blockade has shown promise in preclinical studies and case reports. We hypothesized that blockade of IL1RAP (IL-1 receptor accessory protein), a shared subunit of the IL-1, IL-33, and IL-36 receptors, could be more efficient than IL-1 blockade alone.

Management of Large Full-Thickness Burns Using Kerecis™ Acellular Fish Skin Graft and ReCell™ Autologous Skin Cell Suspension: A Case Report of Two Patients with Large Surface Area Burns.

Novel treatments for extensive full-thickness burns revolve around fluid control, addressing systemic inflammatory derangements, and achieving early skin coverage with acceptable cosmetic and functional results. Recent advances in the management of extensive burns include fish skin xenografts, such as Kerecis Omega-3 acellular dermal substitute. Reported to be non-allergenic and antimicrobial, this Atlantic Cod skin derivative has the potential to supplement the management of patients with large surface area burns.
