Background: Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is an effective treatment for treatment-resistant depression (TRD). There are limited data on the improvement of anxiety symptoms in patients receiving ECT for TRD.
Objective: The aim of the study was to examine the extent to which anxiety symptom severity improves, relative to improvements in depressive symptoms, in TRD patients receiving an acute course of ECT.

Background: Symptoms of depression are associated with impaired interoceptive processing of bodily sensation. The antidepressant effects of subcallosal cingulate deep brain stimulation (SCC DBS) include acute change in bodily sensation, and the SCC target is connected to cortical regions critically involved in interoception. Cross-linking bond exchange kinetics and dilute polymer concentrations were leveraged to tune hydrogel plateau moduli (from 60 to 650 Pa) and relaxation times (from 2 to 8 s). Under continuous flow shear rheometry, these properties affected the onset of shear thickening and the degree of shear thickening achieved before a flow instability occurred.

Mass spectra were acquired for a series of heterocyclic mimetics of acidic amino acids and a related series of nitrile amino acids. All amino acids were readily protonated or deprotonated by electrospray ionization (ESI), and distinctive fragmentation processes were observed when the ions were subjected to collision-induced dissociation (CID).
