Intestinal malrotation is typically encountered in the first year of life and is rarely seen in adult populations. Herein, we present the case of a 48-year-old woman with a surgical history of laparoscopic Nissen-sleeve gastrectomy before 11 months who was referred to the general surgery service after presenting to the emergency department with acute epigastric abdominal pain for one-day duration. Radiography and a computed tomography (CT) scan of the abdomen revealed a large pneumoperitoneum.

Methods: This is a retrospective study of 500 family medicine patients (aged 18 years and older) who completed abdominal imaging at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from January 2016 through June 2020.

This paper reports on the effects of therapeutic ultrasound upon the liver in vivo. Exposure of the liver of rats to therapeutic ultrasound at a frequency of 0.87 MHz results in intravascular haemolysis which is dependent upon the product of the intensity and the exposure duration (energy deposited within the liver).
