Assessing the resource potential of paper and board in lightweight packaging waste sorting plants through manual analysis and sensor-based material flow monitoring.

The recycling of paper and board (PB) yields economic and environmental advantages compared to primary paper production. However, PB from lightweight packaging (LWP) waste is currently not comprehensively reintegrated into the paper value stream. To develop an adapted recycling process for PB from LWP, PB quantities, qualities, and fluctuations ranges in LWP are required.

A 6 month-old-female infant from Bahrain visiting Germany with her family for a holiday was seen by us for extensive dermatophytosis of the back, buttocks, chest and groins. Topical treatment by terbinafine for over 2 months was not successful. Other family members including adults and children were treated in Bahrain with topical antifungals and oral voriconazole which was not helpful.

Activation of muscarinic receptors reduces store-operated Ca2+ entry in HEK293 cells.

In many cell types membrane receptors for hormones or neurotransmitters activate a signal transduction pathway which releases Ca2+ from intracellular Ca2+ stores by the second messenger inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate. As a consequence store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) becomes activated. In the present study we addressed the question if receptor/agonist binding can modulate Ca2+ entry by mechanisms different from the store-operated one.
