Multifunctional materials, such as restricted access molecularly imprinted polymers covered with bovine serum albumin (RAMIP-BSA), are effective alternatives for sample preparation techniques. This material selectively adsorbs analytes while excluding macromolecules, enhancing the analysis's efficiency. Among analytical techniques, ESI-MS/MS (Electrospray Ionization-Tandem Mass Spectrometry) has successfully identified and quantified various molecules, including trace-level drugs.

Hierarchical Control for the Oldroyd Equation in Memoriam to Professor Luiz Adauto Medeiros.

This manuscript deals with a hierarchical control problem for Oldroyd equation under the Stackelberg-Nash strategy. The Oldroyd equation model is defined by non-regular coefficients, that is, they are bounded measurable functions. We assume that we can act in the dynamic of the system by a hierarchy of controls, where one main control (the leader) and several additional secondary control (the followers) act in order to accomplish their given tasks: controllability for the leader and optimization for followers.

[Usefulness of absorbable meshes in the management of splenic trauma].

Introduction: The spleen is not an essential organ for survival but given its important role in immunologic functions its preservation is justified.

Objective: To analyze our experience with absorbable meshes applied to treat splenic injuries.

[Mucin-hypersecretory pancreatic tumors: a pathology with defined characteristics].

We report a case of a mucin-producing tumor of the pancreas, a rare neoplasm of which only a few cases have been described in Europe. The finding of progressive hyperamylasemia without abdominal pain suggests the presence of this type of tumor. At endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP), mucinous excretion and ductal dilation were found.

Hepatocellular carcinoma in a non-cirrhotic coal miner with secondary haemochromatosis.

We report a case of hepatocarcinoma in a non-cirrhotic patient with secondary haemochromatosis. A 61-year-old man, who had been a coal miner for 36 years, presented with a well differentiated hepatocarcinoma without cirrhosis. The patient had a haemochromatosis with no family history of liver disease and a normal genetic study.
