Endometrial cancer incidence and related mortality are on the rise due to aging demographics. This population often presents with unfavorable features, such as myometrial invasion, non-endometrioid histology, high-grade tumors, worse prognosis, etc. The role of age as an independent prognostic factor is still debated, and screening tools addressing frailty emerge as pivotal in guiding treatment decisions; however, they are still underutilized.

Article Synopsis
  • The NEREA initiative focuses on creating an augmented observatory in the Gulf of Naples to improve our understanding of marine ecosystems through a comprehensive approach.
  • It combines traditional research methods with advanced techniques like metabarcoding and metagenomics, building on past expeditions and research sites.
  • In its first 10 months (April 2019 to January 2020), NEREA collected extensive data on physical and chemical parameters, plankton biodiversity, and genetics, resulting in significant insights into marine ecosystems.

Coatings play a crucial role in the functionality of vacuum chambers in particle accelerators, serving a dual goal by efficiently facilitating pumping and mitigating electron cloud effects. However, their impact on the surface impedance of the chamber walls raises concerns, potentially affecting the machine performance and imposing limitations on achievable energies and currents. Therefore, an electromagnetic characterization is essential for a comprehensive study of accelerator structures, particularly in the context of the next-generation machines where the demand for extremely short particle bunches accentuates the importance of evaluating material responses in the very-high-frequency region.

The ANTHEM (Advanced Technologies for Human-centered Medicine) Radio-Frequency Quadrupole (RFQ) will employ eight coaxial power couplers, which will be magnetically coupled to the device through a loop antenna. The coupler design can support up to 140 kW in continuous wave operation. This paper presents the design of the cavity used for high-power testing, with the primary objectives of both optimizing the coupling between the couplers and ensuring operations at the designated operating frequency.

Fracture-related infections (FRIs), as shown in the literature, represent one of the main complications of trauma surgery. They are a consequence of an implant-related "biofilm" formation and are a challenge for surgeons, microbiologists, and infectious disease specialists. For a correct diagnosis, careful clinical evaluation, to look for signs/symptoms attributable to an infectious condition, and instrumental examinations, to highlight the site of infection, its extent, and its severity, are both essential.
