Background: An increasing number of people, including recreational trained individuals, choose not to consume animal products and follow a vegan diet. Young women in particular are switching to a vegan diet. Studies have shown no difference in performance and muscle adaptations between a balanced vegan and an omnivorous diet.

The side effects and safety of cannabidiol (CBD) products are currently discussed in different contexts. Of all adverse effects, hepatotoxic effects have been reported most frequently in previous studies. However, the threshold for liver toxicity of CBD in humans is uncertain due to the lack of adequately designed studies in humans below the lowest observed adverse effect level (LOAEL) of 300 mg/day.

Measurement of Human and Bovine Exhaled Breath Condensate pH Using Polyaniline-Modified Flexible Inkjet-Printed Nanocarbon Electrodes.

The collection, processing, and electrochemical analysis of exhaled breath condensate (EBC) from healthy human and animal subjects is reported on. EBC is a biospecimen potentially rich in biomarkers of respiratory disease. The EBC pH was analyzed potentiometrically using a disposable polyaniline (PANI)-modified inkjet-printed (IJP) carbon electrode.

LDH-Based Voltammetric Sensors.

Layered double hydroxides (LDHs), also named hydrotalcite-like compounds, are anionic clays with a lamellar structure which have been extensively used in the last two decades as electrode modifiers for the design of electrochemical sensors. These materials can be classified into LDHs containing or not containing redox-active centers. In the former case, a transition metal cation undergoing a reversible redox reaction within a proper potential window is present in the layers, and, therefore, it can act as electron transfer mediator, and electrocatalyze the oxidation of an analyte for which the required overpotential is too high.
