Nowadays, continuous glycaemic monitoring systems are used primarily for diabetic patients. The most popular continuous glycaemic monitoring (CGMs) measure the glucose concentration in the interstitial fluid every 1 or 5 minutes, providing the patient with 288 or 1,440 measurements in a day. CGM is also useful for observing sudden changes in glycaemia after the introduction of dietary interventions and those related to physical activity.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: While insulin pumps remain the most common form of therapy for youths with type 1 diabetes (T1DM), they differ in the extent to which they utilize data from continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and automate insulin delivery.
Methods: The aim of the study was to compare metabolic control in patients using different models of insulin pumps. This retrospective single-center study randomly sampled 30 patients for each of the following treatments: Medtronic 720G without PLGS (predictive low glucose suspend), Medtronic 640G or 740G with PLGS and Medtronic 780G.
Objective: The main purpose of this study was to characterize the determinants of metabolic changes in young type 1 diabetes (T1DM) and to determine glycemic variability during low and high-intensity exercise.
Patients And Methods: 20 young male T1DM patients were divided into two subgroups characterized by levels of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c): HbA1c<7.3% (better HbA1c subgroup, n=10) and with levels HbA1c>7.
Therapy for type 1 diabetes (T1DM) focuses on maintaining optimal blood glucose levels, achieved with intensive insulin treatment, proper nutrition, and physical activity. The aim of this study was to investigate postprandial glycemic changes under low (30%) and standard (50%) carbohydrate diets in adolescents with T1DM. A single-center cross-over nutritional study was conducted, during which 26 adolescent patients provided 220 continuous glucose-monitored (CGM) meals data from the two consecutive 3-day nutritional plans.

This study determines how nutritional patterns influence the quality of dietary intervention with a 30% or 50% carbohydrate diet in terms of glycaemic control measured with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Eating habits were obtained with a frequency-of-consumption questionnaire (FFQ-6) before the diet assessment.
