[Haemorrhagic complications following ibrutinib intake after dermatological surgery].

Introduction: Ibrutinib is a selective oral inhibitor of Bruton's tyrosine kinase. It is used in haematology to treat lymphoid B disorders. Haemorrhagic complications in dermatological surgery are occasionally associated with the use of anti-platelet and/or anticoagulant medication.

[Characteristics of chronic wounds in substance abuse: A retrospective study of 58 patients].

Background: Drug addiction causes chronic wounds (CW) responsible for severe complications. Very few studies are available on this topic. The aim of our study was to describe the demographic, clinical and etiological characteristics as well as the course of CW in drug addicts.

Longitudinal study assessing the return of chloroquine susceptibility of Plasmodium falciparum in isolates from travellers returning from West and Central Africa, 2000-2011.

Background: Chloroquine (CQ) was the main malaria therapy worldwide from the 1940s until the 1990s. Following the emergence of CQ-resistant Plasmodium falciparum, most African countries discontinued the use of CQ, and now promote artemisinin-based combination therapy as the first-line treatment. This change was generally initiated during the last decade in West and Central Africa.

An ex-vivo human intestinal model to study Entamoeba histolytica pathogenesis.

Amoebiasis (a human intestinal infection affecting 50 million people every year) is caused by the protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica. To study the molecular mechanisms underlying human colon invasion by E. histolytica, we have set up an ex vivo human colon model to study the early steps in amoebiasis.
