Objective: to map scientific knowledge on nursing students' attitudes and perceptions regarding ageism.
Method: scoping review according to the recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute. The study question was: What are scientific evidence available on the attitudes and perceptions of nursing students regarding ageism? The search was conducted in 12 databases using the Rayyan application and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews.
To ensure the safety of surgical procedures, a local health authority in Turin (Piedmont Region, Italy) adopted an operating room chart as a standard procedure that contextualizes the Ministerial surgical checklist and fills the surgical safety requirements of the regional health authority. Three characteristics make the adopted operating room chart especially useful and innovative: (i) it is completed by surgical nurses; (ii) it is completed during the surgical procedure itself; (iii) the greater number and type of checks required in addition to those specified in the ministerial checklist.

The nice relationship existing among the Hermite-Gauss and the Laguerre-Gauss image expansions, whose basis functions span the same signal space, is investigated. As a result, a novel efficient method for Cartesian to polar coordinate inter-conversion, especially suited for dedicated hardware realization, is proposed. Applications to local image rotation, based on the simple steerability of the Laguerre-Gauss expansion, and to local image analysis, based on Gaussian derivatives, are considered in detail.

A method for measuring the orientation of linear (1-D) patterns, based on a local expansion with Laguerre-Gauss circular harmonic (LG-CH) functions, is presented. It lies on the property that the polar separable LG-CH functions span the same space as the 2-D Cartesian separable Hermite-Gauss (2-D HG) functions. Exploiting the simple steerability of the LG-CH functions and the peculiar block-linear relationship among the two expansion coefficients sets, maximum likelihood (ML) estimates of orientation and cross section parameters of 1-D patterns are obtained projecting them in a proper subspace of the 2-D HG family.

The catalysts derived from 4 and eight lanthanide(III) triflates have been tested over three reactions involving 3-acryloyl- and 3-crotonoyloxazolidinones (5 a,b): the Diels-Alder (DA) reaction with cyclopentadiene, the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition with diphenyl nitrone and the Mukaiyama-Michael reaction with 2-trimethylsilyloxyfuran. Several reactions exhibit very good enantioselectivity (ee>90 %), and the opposite enantiomers can be easily obtained simply by changing the cation.
