Employment Status and HIV Viral Load in Chilean Adult Population: A Propensity Score Analysis.

We set out to investigate the potential impact of unemployment on HIV viral load in individuals living with HIV at the biggest HIV-related healthcare centre in Chile. We analysed a cross-sectional dataset of 803 adults living with HIV on antiretroviral therapy. The main exposure was employment status.

Assessing attitudes towards violence against women and girls, their determinants and health-seeking behaviour among women and men in South Sudan: a cross-sectional national survey.

Objective: Investigating attitudes accepting two categories of violence against women and girls (VAWG) (intimate partner violence-IPV-and other expressions of VAWG) and their association with seven demographic/social determinants and health-seeking behaviours in South Sudan.

Design: Cross-sectional study using data from the South Sudan National Household Survey 2020.

Awake thyroidectomy.

Objective: In this article, we present a series of 28 patients who underwent thyroid surgery using local anesthesia. We describe our technique, report outcomes, and assess how well the procedure was tolerated from a patient perspective.

Methods: Three surgeons performed awake thyroidectomies and recorded data, including the patient's age and gender, surgery being performed, operative time, weight of the surgical specimen, quantity and type of local anesthetic used, additional medications, patient-reported pain assessment, and any complications.

Culture time and reagent minimization in the chemical PCC assay.

The possibility to reduce the culture time and volume of blood and reagents required for the chemical Premature Chromosome Condensation (PCC) assay is demonstrated in this work. Peripheral whole blood was exposed to gamma radiation (1-20 Gy). Lymphocytes were cultured for 40 h, using 50 μl of blood and 450 μl of culture medium.
