This paper submits experimental results of a study directed towards the formation of Eu ions' luminescent centers in CVD diamond films. A new approach is based on use of diamond nanoparticles with a surface modified with Eu ions for seeding at CVD growth. Nanocrystalline diamond films (NCD) doped with Eu have been grown from the gas phase on silicon substrates by microwave plasma-assisted CVD at a frequency of 2.

Surprisingly, the measurements indicate that except for a small change in the effective mass, there is no significant difference between the electronic structure of these samples, irrespective of their physical dimensionality, except for a small modification of the effective mass.

This Letter describes the principle of operation, the design of the switch cavity, the configuration used for the tests, and the experimental results. The pulse compressor produced output pulses with 140-165 MW peak power, record peak power gains of 16∶1-20∶1, and FWHM pulse duration of 16-20 ns at a frequency of 11.
