Students perspectives on the development and deployment of an AI-enabled service robot in long-term care.

The need for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in gerontology education is underscored by the potential benefits it offers in addressing loneliness and supporting social connection among older adults in long-term care (LTC) homes. While the workforce in LTC is often overburdened, AI-enabled service robots present possible solutions to enhance residents' quality of life. However, the incorporation of AI and service robots in current gerontology curricula is lacking, and the views of students on this subject remain largely unexamined.

Comparison of Lignocaine-Dexamethasone vs. Lignocaine-Triamcinolone for Preventing Post Spinal-Epidural Backache: A Randomized Study.

Background: The primary objective of this study was to compare the efficacy of lignocaine-dexamethasone and lignocaine-triamcinolone infiltration, along the spinal-epidural needle insertion pathway, to prevent backache after lower abdominal surgeries.

Methods: This prospective, double-blind randomized controlled study included a total of 150 patients, scheduled for elective lower abdominal surgery under combined spinal-epidural (CSE) anaesthesia. The patients were randomised into three groups Group L (Lignocaine, n=50), Group DL (Dexamethasone, Lignocaine, n=50), and Group TL (Triamcinolone, Lignocaine, n=50).

Characterization, Bio-Prospection, and Comparative Metagenomics of Bacterial Communities Revealing the Predictive Functionalities in Wild and Cultured Samples of Industrially Important Red Seaweed Gracilaria dura.

The present study explores the microbial community associated with the industrially important red seaweed Gracilaria dura to determine the diversity and biotechnological potential through culture and metagenomics approaches. In the first part of the investigation, we isolated and characterized 75 bacterial morphotypes, with varied colony characteristics and metabolic diversity from the wild seaweed. Phylogenetic analysis identified isolates in Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, and Actinobacteria, with Bacillus sp.

Background: Sexual harassment (SH) and Gender discrimination (GD) faced by medical students have been neglected areas of study in India. Only a few recent studies could be found, despite frequent media reports on SH and GD. This study aimed to assess the attitudes and perceptions of sexual harassment and gender discrimination and evaluate the forms of SH and GD experienced by them.
