Objectives: Abdominal wall and intra-abdominal fibromatoses are locally aggressive, nonmetastasizing neoplasms. Surgery has been the mainstay of local control, but new forms of therapy have been developed that may influence the clinical course and morbidity. We studied the clinical features and outcomes of patients with abdominal and intra-abdominal fibromatoses over time.

RIPC protects against ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI), and preclinical studies suggest that this is mediated through release of endogenous opioids. We aimed to interrogate the role of endogenous opioids in RIPC-signaling in humans, using an arm model of IRI.

This study explored the associations between autoantibodies (AABs), particularly those targeting G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and renin‒angiotensin system (RAS) molecules, and the clinical manifestations of COVID-19. Using a cross-sectional analysis of 244 individuals, we applied multivariate analysis of variance, principal component analysis, and multinomial regression to examine the relationships between AAB levels and key symptoms.

Whether APOL1 high-risk variants are independent risk factors for cardiovascular diseases is unclear and requires further investigation.
Methods: We characterized a mouse model to investigate the role of APOL1 in dyslipidemia and cardiovascular diseases.
African-American women have a maternal mortality rate approximately three times higher than European-American women. This is partially due to hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, including preeclampsia. Fetal high-risk genotype increases preeclampsia risk, although mechanisms remain elusive.
