In the ACC/AHA guidelines, the presence of symptoms plays a central role in determining timing surgery in primary mitral regurgitation (MR). Studies have shown a disconnect between the severity of MR and symptoms. The purpose of this study is to assess risk factors for symptoms in patients with chronic primary MR.

Kugel's artery is defined as a rare anatomical variant of the coronary artery vascular bed consisting of an anastomotic connection between branches of the right coronary artery (RCA) and/or left circumflex artery (LCX). Kugel's artery has been reported to have an incidence of 6% in the general population. The presence of this anastomotic communication may play a pathophysiological role in a patient with a right dominant coronary circulation and an underlying coronary artery disease (CAD) affecting the right coronary system.

A Case of Myopericarditis and Cardiac Tamponade as the Initial Presentation of COVID-19 Infection.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a novel disease with various complications involving different organ systems caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus. While the respiratory complications associated with COVID-19 have been well publicized, our understanding of the nonpulmonary complications of COVID-19 is lacking. Herein we present a case of a middle-aged woman who developed myopericarditis, pericardial effusion, and tamponade in the setting of COVID-19 infection.
