Background: The adoption of Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean is increasing, but evidence supporting individual interventions having a specific benefit to Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean is lacking. A key element in Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean is early oral intake. Maternal complications are more frequent in unplanned cesarean delivery.

A hospital based retrospective study of the prevalence of snakebite cases at Hospital Kuala Lumpur was carried out over a five-year period from 1999 to 2003. A total of 126 snakebite cases were recorded. The highest admission for snakebites was recorded in 2001 (29 cases).

A case of urogenital myiasis caused by Chrysomya bezziana (Diptera: Calliphoridae) was diagnosed in a 76-year old patient who had carcinoma of the rectum. A total of 35 larvae were obtained from ulcers near the external genitalia and urethra opening. Larvae pupated within 1 to 2 days and 6 days later emerged as adult males.

A patient with idiopathic inhibitor to factor VIII is reported. Treatment with cyclophosphamide and factor VIII (given simultaneously) produced a good clinical response with disappearance of the inhibitor.
