Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common degenerative condition causing low back pain (LBP) due to nerve compression. Previous studies show conflicting findings regarding the multifidus (MF) muscle's microscopic changes in LDH patients. So, this study aimed to compare the affected MF to the adjacent MF on the ipsilateral and contralateral sides in LDH patients and examined correlations with clinical features of LBP.

Design: Controlled laboratory study.
Methods: Fifteen rugby-code players measured with three-dimensional optoelectronic motion capture performed two tackle instructions from the Australian National Rugby League coaching manual on under (Dominant National Rugby League) and over (Smother National Rugby League) the ball tackles, and two novel variants of these (under, Dominant, Torso Stick; over, Smother, Pop, Lock).
High-entropy-alloy (HEA) nanocrystals hold immense potential for catalysis, offering virtually unlimited alloy combinations through the inclusion of at least five constituent elements in varying ratios. However, general and effective strategies for synthesizing libraries of HEA nanocrystals with controlled surface atomic structures remain scarce. In this study, a transferable strategy for developing a library of facet-controlled seed@HEA nanocrystals through seed-mediated growth is presented.

For over 50 years denaturing sequencing gels have been used as key analysis tools for probing the nucleotide addition mechanisms of T7 RNAP and other polymerases. However, sequencing gels are low-throughput limiting their utility for comprehensive enzyme analysis.

These tumors are usually seen in the head, neck and flexor surfaces, but can arise in the retroperitoneal space on rare occasions. This case gives the unique opportunity to watch the long term progression and speed of growth of this rare tumor and the development of symptoms over time.
