Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the most common gastrointestinal malignancy, and 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) is the principal chemotherapeutic drug used for its treatment. However, 5-FU resistance remains a significant challenge. Under stress conditions, tumor metabolic reprogramming influences 5-FU resistance.

Background: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder with childhood onset, however, there is no clear correspondence established between clinical ADHD subtypes and primary medications. Identifying objective and reliable neuroimaging markers for categorizing ADHD biotypes may lead to more individualized, biotype-guided treatment.

Methods: Here we proposed a graph convolution network for biological subtype detection (GCN-BSD) using both functional network connectivity (FNC) and non-imaging phenotypic data for ADHD biotype.

Background & Aims: Current prognostic models for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) undergoing transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) are not extensively validated and widely accepted. We aimed to develop and validate a continuous model incorporating tumor burden and biology for individual survival prediction and risk stratification.

Methods: Overall, 4,377 treatment-naive candidates for whom TACE was recommended, from 39 centers in five countries, were enrolled and divided into training, internal validation, and two external validation datasets.

Article Synopsis
  • Cage subsidence can negatively affect lumbar fusion procedures, with material selection (PEEK vs. 3D-Ti) influencing this issue; the study aims to compare their subsidence rates.
  • The systematic search reviewed 265 patients from three high-quality studies, focusing on cage subsidence and classified subsidence rates using a specific method.
  • Results indicated that 3D-Ti cages have a significantly lower rate of subsidence compared to PEEK cages, with less severe subsidence and better overall performance.
