Anxiety and Depression Among Patients Newly Diagnosed with Lymphoma and Myeloma.

Although lymphoma and myeloma confer physical and psychological burden, data are limited regarding anxiety and depression symptoms in affected patients. We conducted a survey between 07/2021 and 09/2022 to characterize anxiety and depression in a cohort of adult patients, within six months of a lymphoma or myeloma diagnosis. Clinically significant anxiety and depression symptoms were defined as scores ≥8 on the corresponding subscales of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale.

Letting go/ moving on: A scoping review of relational effects on transition to adult care.

Objective: The objective of this scoping review was to assess the extent of the literature on how relational components in pediatric care contribute to the transition process and transfer outcomes.

Background: Relationships between patients, parents and pediatric providers are a frequently cited barrier in transition to adult care. A scoping review aimed to identify studies focused on how the relationship between patients/parents and pediatric providers related to transition from pediatric to adult healthcare and explore the nature and depth of the evidence.

A Scoping Review of Intervention Outcomes for School Students With Communication Difficulties.

Purpose: For speech-language pathologists (SLPs) working in schools, outcome measurement is an important element of practice, enabling us to evaluate the efficacy of our service provision and guiding future decision making, funding, and resource allocation. When selecting outcomes to measure, it is helpful to consider both the level at which change may be occurring and the extent or impact of that change. The primary aim of this review was to identify the outcomes measured in intervention studies for school-aged children with speech, language, and communication difficulties (SLCD) using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health to classify the outcomes.

Urban sensory conditions alter rival interactions and mate choice in urban and forest túngara frogs.

Sexual communication often takes place in networks with multiple competing signalers being simultaneously assessed by mate choosers. Altered sensory conditions, such as noise and light pollution, can affect communication by altering signal production and perception. While evidence of sensory pollution affecting sexual signaling is widespread, few studies assess impacts on sexual signaling during rival interactions as well as mate choice, let alone whether urban and non-urban populations have diverged in their response.

Reproducibility of 3D chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) contrasts in the healthy brain at 3T.

Chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) imaging may provide novel contrast for the diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of the progression or treatment of neurological applications. However, the reproducibility of prominent CEST contrasts like amide CEST and nuclear Overhauser enhancement (NOE) CEST must be characterized in healthy brain gray matter (GM) and white matter (GM) prior to clinical implementation. The objective of this study was to characterize the reproducibility of four different CEST contrasts in the healthy human brain.
