Background: Limited data is available to evaluate the burden of device associated healthcare infections (HAI) [central line associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI), catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI), and ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP)] in low and-middle-income countries. Our aim is to investigate the population attributable mortality fraction and the absolute mortality difference of HAI in a broad population of critically ill patients from Brazil.

Methods: Multicenter cohort study from September 2019 to December 2023 with prospective individual patient data collection.

All life depends on accurate and efficient protein synthesis. The aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (aaRSs) are a family of proteins that play an essential role in protein translation, as they catalyze the esterification reaction that charges a transfer RNA (tRNA) with its cognate amino acid. However, new domains added to the aaRSs over the course of evolution in eukaryotes confer novel functions unrelated to protein translation.

Background/objectives: The optimal dietary approach for managing glycemic and metabolic control in type 2 diabetes (T2D) is still uncertain, though it should be tailored for clinical settings. Therefore, we sought to assess the impact of a multicomponent nutritional strategy on glycemic control in T2D patients within a public health system.

Methods: NUGLIC was an open-label, parallel-group, superiority, multicenter randomized controlled trial.
