The triad of gastric volvulus (GV), wandering spleen (WS), and diaphragmatic eventration (DE) is extremely uncommon and only two cases have been reported in the current pediatric literature. In this paper, we aim to describe the diagnostic and surgical management of a 5-month-old baby with this pathological triad and to present the other cases reported in pediatric literature. A 5-month-old baby was referred to our hospital because of vomiting and inconsolable crying from 12 h.

Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) models are emerging as promising tools to identify predictive features among data coming from health records. Their application in clinical routine is still challenging, due to technical limits and to explainability issues in this specific setting. Response to standard first-line immunotherapy (ICI) in metastatic Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) is an interesting population for machine learning (ML), since up to 30% of patients do not benefit.

Melanoma is currently the most prevalent malignant neoplasm among adults and represents the second most common cancer in both sexes among individuals aged 0 to 39 years. This retrospective multicenter study delves into the distinctive clinical, anamnestic, histopathologic, and prognostic attributes of melanoma in Adolescent and Young Adults (AYA), defined as patients diagnosed at ≤40 years, across four Italian centers. Through a computer-based review of clinical records from 1 January 2010 to 30 September 2023, AYA melanomas were contrasted with non-AYA melanomas (>40 years) among 1452 patients.

Recognizing non-invasive growth patterns is necessary for correct diagnosis, invasive size determination and pT-stage in resected non-small cell lung carcinoma. Due to iatrogenic collapse after resection, the distinction between adenocarcinoma in-situ (AIS) and invasive adenocarcinoma may be difficult. The aim of this study is to investigate the complex morphology of non-mucinous non-invasive patterns of AIS in resection specimen with iatrogenic collapse, and to relate this to follow-up.
