This work includes the synthesis of a new series of palladium-based complexes containing both morpholine and N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands. The new complexes were characterized using NMR ( H and C), FTIR spectroscopic, and elemental analysis techniques. The crystal structure of complex 1b was obtained by utilizing the single-crystal X-ray diffraction method.

Five 4-hydroxyphenylethyl substituted pyridine enhanced, precatalyst, preparation, stabilization, and initiation-Pd-N-heterocyclic carbene (PEPPSI-Pd-NHC) complexes are synthesized in a straightforward way. All PEPPSI-Pd-NHC complexes were prepared by mixing 4-hydroxyphenylethyl substituted NHC precursors, palladium chloride, potassium carbonate, and potassium bromide in pyridine. All complexes were screened for human carbonic anhydrase I (hCA I) and hCA II, acetylcholinesterase (AChE), butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), and α-glucosidase (α-Glu) inhibitory activities.

Background: Carbon monoxide poisoning (COP) is an important cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. This study was to investigate the levels of serum paraoxonase (PON), arylesterase (ARYL), ceruloplasmin (Cp), and sulfhydryl (-SH) in the treatment of COP, and to further understand the pathophysiology of COP.

Methods: This prospective study comprised 107 individuals with COP (group 1) and 50 healthy volunteers (group 2).

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the hispathological, biochemical, and clinical efficiency of Ankaferd Blood Stopper (ABS) in preventing postoperative intraabdominal adhesions.

Method: A total of 40 Wistar albino species female rats were randomly separated into 4 groups. For the control group, 1 mL normal saline was administered; and for the second, third, and fourth groups 0.

Objective: To evaluate the presentation, timing, etiology, risk factors, mortality, and outcome of ischemic stroke (IS), intracerebral hemorrhagic stroke (ICH/HS), and cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) occurring during pregnancy and the postpartum period in southeast Turkey.

Methods: The study was carried out from September 2003 to September 2005 at the emergency department of Dicle University Hospital in the southeast part of Turkey. Thirty-eight stroke patients, 18-42 years of age with a diagnosis of stroke during pregnancy or within 6 weeks of delivery were included.
