Imaging of necrotizing fasciitis.

Necrotizing Fasciitis (NF) is a rare, but highly lethal, rapidly progressive necrotic infection of the soft-tissue fascia. More common in immunocompromised patients, NF typically affects the extremities, perineal area, genital area (Fournier gangrene), and less commonly the torso. Although classically a clinical diagnosis, imaging is a powerful adjunct to facilitate early diagnosis in equivocal cases.

Impact of an Adult Congenital Heart Disease Order Set in a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

Patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) are increasingly surviving to adulthood. Given their age- and condition-specific needs, the optimal postoperative setting for these patients is not yet determined. Rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy is rare, with a reported incidence of 1 in 76,000 to 1 in 150,000. This report aims to advance knowledge regarding this rare condition, importance of MRI imaging in characterizing congenital uterine anomalies and the feasibility of a total laparoscopic management approach.
