Wastewater is a by-product of numerous industrial processes that have been demonstrated to have adverse effects on human and natural health due to the pollutants it contains. The pollutants in these substances are organic or inorganic molecules and heavy metal ions that significantly harm the environment and human health. A variety of techniques have been devised for the removal of heavy metal ions from wastewater.

Clinical and Radiological Evaluation and Follow-Up of Patients with Noncardiac Plastic Bronchitis.

Objective: Plastic bronchitis (PB) is a rare disease characterized by obstruction of the airway by fibrinous mucus plugs. The etiology can be idiopathic or secondary to systematic diseases such as congenital heart diseases. Definitive diagnosis is made by pathological examination of the sputum or bronchial sample taken by bronchoscopy.

The Experience of our Center in Patients Undergoing Insulin Degludec/ Insulin Aspart Co-formulation Therapy.

Aim: A co-formulation containing insulin degludec and insulin aspart (IDegAsp) is available for the treatment of diabetes in Turkey. We aimed to evaluate the clinical results of switching to IDegAsp treatment for Type 2 diabetes.

Methods: A total of 217 patients with type 2 diabetes treated with IDegAsp and having follow-up data were included.

Evaluation of diagnostic components and management of childhood pulmonary tuberculosis: a prospective study from Istanbul, Turkey.

Introduction: The diagnosis of childhood tuberculosis is difficult and most of the patients are diagnosed clinically. The objective of this study is to reveal the diagnostic and therapeutic components of childhood pulmonary tuberculosis and to analyze the changes that occurred in our country over the years.

Methodology: All patients diagnosed with tuberculosis between 2006 and 2016 were included.

Practical Utility of Diagnostic Clinical Breast Examination in the Diagnosis of Breast Cancer.

Objectives We aimed to investigate the effectiveness of physician-performed diagnostic clinical breast examination (DCBE) for the diagnosis of breast cancer in clinical practice and to determine the rates of breast cancer diagnosed with DCBE compared to the results of breast ultrasonography (US), mammography (MG), and histopathology. Methods In the retrospective cohort study, the files of female patients diagnosed with breast cancer and admitted to the general surgery outpatient clinics of a university hospital over a 10-year period (2011-2021) were examined. Patients with complete DCBE findings in their files were identified and analyzed (n = 1,091).
