Purpose: In this study, we compared the endocrine and cytokine reaction of the patients which laparoscopic and conventional appendectomy was done for acute appendicitis.
Materials And Method: 50 patients who were operated for acute appendicitis in Ankara Atatürk Research and Training Hospital between the dates December 2013 and February 2014 were enrolled and grouped as either laparoscopic or conventional. Serum ACTH, IL-6 and CRP levels were obtained at induction of anesthesia and postoperative 6th hour.

Aim: The role of carnitine in liver regeneration. Can carnitine given externally increase and/or fasten the beginning of liver regeneration?
Results: Wistar Albino rats were used. Group 1: The group, which was applied parenteral carnitine after partial hepatectomy and sacrificed on the 1st day.
Elastosonography (ES) is a newly developed method that is used for the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules. In different studies, ES scoring has been compared with histopathological findings, and sensitivity and specificity of the scoring were calculated. In this study, it determines the strain index (SI) as well as the ES to score thyroid nodules, and establishes the role for these parameters in the differential diagnosis of thyroid nodules using histopathological analysis as a reference standard.
