- The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture in alleviating postlaparoscopic shoulder pain (PLSP), a common issue after abdominal laparoscopic surgeries.
- Patients suffering from moderate to severe PLSP, despite receiving analgesics, underwent individualized acupuncture treatment, and pain levels were measured before and after the sessions on a scale from 0 to 10.
- Results showed a significant reduction in both PLSP and general pain levels, with no major side effects reported, suggesting that acupuncture may provide beneficial relief alongside conventional treatments.

The paper presents a linguistic-statistical study of the vocabulary and word-frequency as well as of the variety and frequency distribution of the parts of speech. Ten aphasics were studied in comparison with 10 normal controls. A corpus of 2,500 words was collected in each subject by means of a standard-interview.
