Background: Calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor is a rare benign tumor that predominantly occurs in posterior sites of the mandible in adults.
Case Presentation: This case report describes a case of calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor in a 37-year-old Iranian female with the chief complaint of swelling in the anterior region of the mandible and tooth displacement. This paper summarized the pathological findings, radiographical features and clinical management of the patient.
Background: The present study aims to determine the effect of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) on neuro-sensory disturbance after orthognathic surgery.
Materials And Methods: In a randomized clinical trial, the participants via split-mouth sampling were randomly divided into two intervention (=27) and control (=27) groups. In the intervention group, participants received TENS physiotherapy.
Background: This study was conducted to compare the pain levels in patients and the clinical efficacy of grafts obtained using two techniques, namely de-epithelialized gingival graft (DGG) and subepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG), in combination with coronally advanced flap (CAF) for the treatment of multiple adjacent gingival recessions.
Methods: Twelve patients were treated using DGG+CAF on one side and SCTG+CAF on the other. The patients' pain levels at the surgical site, the number of analgesics taken on days 3 and 7, the mean root coverage (MRC), the percentage of complete root coverage (CRC), color match, and gingival thickness (GT) at the graft recipient site were evaluated 6 months after surgery.
Background: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is a common side effect associated with general anesthesia. Both ondansetron and aprepitant been effectively used to prevent PONV. However, there is a disagreement of opinions regarding the superiority of these two drugs.
