Asymmetric Bilateral Medial Temporal Lobe Encephalitis Associated With Anti-N-Methyl-D-Aspartate (NMDA) Receptor Antibodies: A Case Report.

Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor encephalitis is a rare autoimmune disorder that typically presents with neuropsychiatric symptoms and medial temporal lobe involvement. We report the case of a 24-year-old female with no significant medical history, who developed severe anxiety, memory deficits, and confusion over a two-week period. Neurological examination revealed cognitive dysfunction, asymmetric limb movements, and psychosis.

Beyond the Stroke: A Case Report of Multiple Sclerosis.

Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory, autoimmune demyelinating condition and poses diagnostic challenges due to varied presentations. This case report presents a divergence from typical clinical presentations of multiple sclerosis (MS), as the initial presentation resembled symptoms of a brain stem stroke. Conventionally, MS suspicion arises in the presence of previous neurological deficits or signs of optic neuritis.

Population expansion, industrialization, urban development, and climate changes increased the water crisis in terms of drinking water availability. Among the various nanomaterials for nanoremediation towards water treatment, FeS-based nanocomposites have emerged as promising candidates in the adsorptive and photocatalytic removal of contaminants. This paper, therefore, evaluates the potential of FeS-based nanocomposites for environmental applications, more specifically the combined use of adsorption and photocatalysis.

The Management of Osteoporosis in Chronic Kidney Disease: A Review of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Approaches.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has shown a growing association with osteoporosis, comprising part of the broader CKD-mineral and bone disorder (CKD-MBD). CKD-MBD is marked by alterations in calcium, phosphorus, parathyroid hormone (PTH), and vitamin D metabolism, significantly elevating fracture risk. While traditional osteoporosis treatments such as bisphosphonates, denosumab, and teriparatide have been adapted for CKD patients, recent innovations have introduced agents aimed at enhancing bone mass and reducing fracture incidence.

Background: Sansevieria trifasciata, common name, mother-in-law's tongue, is a member of the Agavaceae family. We undertook this study to evaluate the cytotoxicity of S. trifasciata leaf extract against two cancer cell lines as well as its antibacterial activities against six bacterial strains.
