Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) continues to spread in the population. We recently reported the production of bovine colostrum-derived antibodies that can neutralize the virus. These have been formulated into a nasal spray.

Uterine fluid extracellular vesicles (UF-EVs) play a key role in cell-to-cell communication in the uterus, potentially holding the signs of aetiology for endometritis. We used mass spectrometry-based quantitative shotgun proteomics to compare UF-EV proteomic profiles in healthy cows (H), cows with subclinical (SE) or clinical endometritis (CLE) sampled at 28-35 days postpartum.

In this prospective cohort study, the metabolome from in vitro-produced day 7 blastocysts with successful implantation ( = 11), blastocysts with failed implantation ( = 10), and plain culture media without embryos ( = 5) were included. Samples were analyzed using an AbsoluteIDQ p180 Targeted Metabolomics Kit with LC-MS/MS, and a total of 189 metabolites were analyzed from each sample.

Freeze drying has been well applied in the preparation of high-efficiency viability probiotic powders. However, the process is generally accompanied by probiotic viability deficiency, which poses a problem for further application. In this study, various kinds of cryoprotectant formulations (skim milk, maltodextrin, and sucrose) were tested to enhance the survival of NBC99 after freezing and freeze-drying.

The objectives of this research were to evaluate the serum mitochondrial open reading frame of the 12S rRNA-c (MOTS-c) and humanin levels in lung or breast cancer patients, and investigate the impacts of radiation therapy on the circulating levels of these peptides.
Methods: 35 lung cancer patients, 34 breast cancer patients, and healthy volunteers as a control group were recruited in this prospective observatory research.
