Aims: A novel noninvasive score, Agile-4 score, combining liver stiffness measurements, aspartate aminotransferase/alanine aminotransferase, platelet count, diabetes status and sex has been developed for the identification of cirrhosis in patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). We assessed the performance of Agile-4 for ruling-in/out liver cirrhosis in MASLD patients.
Materials And Methods: We searched Medline, Cochrane library, Web of science, Scopus and Echosens website up to May 2024.
Background: The controlled attenuation parameter (CAP) enables the noninvasive assessment of liver steatosis. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of CAP for identifying liver steatosis in patients at risk for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), using magnetic resonance imaging proton density fat fraction (MRI-PDFF) as the reference standard.
Methods: We searched Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library and gray literature sources up to March 2024.
Background: The incidence of pediatric-onset inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is rising, while the relapsing and often severe nature of IBD, and its impact on emotional and pubertal development and social maturation underline the need for a successful transition from pediatric to adult care.
Methods: A web-based survey was distributed via the Hellenic Group for the Study of IBD, the Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology Department of North Greece, and the Hellenic Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.
Results: The questionnaire was answered by 98 individuals (78 adult and 20 pediatric gastroenterologists, out of 357 and 30, respectively).
The application of manures leads to the contamination of agricultural soils with veterinary antibiotics (VAs). These might exert toxicity on the soil microbiota and threaten environmental quality, and public health. We obtained mechanistic insights about the impact of three VAs, namely, sulfamethoxazole (SMX), tiamulin (TIA) and tilmicosin (TLM), on the abundance of key soil microbial groups, antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and class I integron integrases (intl1).
