Background: Blood donation plays a critical role in public health, yet long-term donors (donating at least twice per year, for at least three years) often face challenges related to psychological adjustment and quality of life. Digital health tools could offer innovative solutions to address these issues by providing personalized support, tracking, and mental health interventions.
Aim: This study investigates the impact of digital health tools on the quality of life (QoL) and psychological adjustment of long-term blood donors in Saudi Arabia, with attention to demographic factors influencing engagement and perceptions.

The increasing exposure to biomass-burning emissions underscores the need to understand their toxicological impacts on human health. In this study, we developed a laboratory model to evaluate the effects of single and repeated sub-acute exposures to water-soluble wood tar (WT) extracts, a product of biomass burning, on human lung, liver, and immune cells. Using representative cell lines for different tissues, we examined the cytotoxic effects under conditions mimicking sub-acute environmental exposure levels relevant to humans.

Transcriptomics classify glioblastoma into proneural (PN), mesenchymal (MES) and classical (CL) subtypes that show differential resistance to targeted therapies. The aim of this study was to provide a viable approach for identifying combination therapies in glioblastoma subtypes.

Echinoderm microtubule-associated protein like 1 (EML1) mutations lead to subcortical heterotopia, associated with abnormal radial glia positioning in the cortical wall, prior to malformation onset. This perturbed distribution of proliferative cells is likely to be a critical event for heterotopia formation; however, the underlying mechanisms remain unexplained.

Choroid plexus tumors (CPTs) are rare neoplasms predominantly occurring in young patients with intensified malignancy in children. CPT treatment is hindered by insufficient knowledge of tumor pathology and the limited availability of valid models.
