Malassezia species are lipophilic yeasts recognized for causing skin manifestations, such as pityriasis versicolor. In addition, Malassezia can lead to invasive infection, mostly intravascular catheter-associated sepsis-related lipid-containing total parenteral nutrition in neonates and immunocompromised hosts. We experienced a case of invasive pulmonary Malassezia infection in a patient with refractory ulcerative colitis undergoing immunosuppressive treatment without lipid-containing total parenteral nutrition.

In smaller abdominal aortic diameter cases, we used the stripped AFX aortic cuff as a scaffolding bare stent rather than the Zenith Dissection Endovascular Stent, which is a commercially available, large bare stent. In this study, we evaluated the feasibility of the stripped AFX aortic cuff and experiments were conducted to compare the stripped AFX and the Zenith Dissection Endovascular Stent.

When compared with a reference structure without the plasmonic layer, the resonators, which included either Al or Ag, showed almost the same threshold excitation intensities for generation of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE). This result indicates that the ease of light amplification in the plasmonic resonators was comparable to that in the reference structure.

Methods: This multi-institutional retrospective study reviewed the clinical, imaging, and pathological findings of 21 patients with pathologically proven IOPN-P. Twenty-one computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging, and seven F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)-positron emission tomography were performed before surgery.
Amazakes made from rice and koji mold are rich in nutrients, such as groups of vitamin B, minerals, essential amino acids, and oligosaccharides, and can improve skin moisturization. However, there are few reports on milk amazake, made from milk and koji mold. Therefore, in this double-blind, randomized controlled trial, we investigate the effect of milk amazake on skin function.
