Palsy of the hypoglossal nerve, the 12 cranial nerve, is rare and presents with specific clinical features depending on the anatomical location of the underlying pathology. As such, knowledge of clinical presentation and detailed anatomy of the nerve is vital to aid in localisation and identification of the pathology. This pictorial review details the anatomy of the nerve, including innervation, segments, and branches, with particular reference to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Purpose: The purpose of this project was to determine the validity and reliability of the Healthcare Quality Perception (HQP) questionnaire tool designed to capture employees' perceptions of healthcare quality in Indian hospitals.

Design/methodology/approach: Two hundred employees in private and public sector hospitals in India were randomly selected and given the HQP tool. It consisted of 38 Likert-scale items and six different subscales: (1) Planning and Documentation ( = 7); (2) Employee Participation in Quality Management Activities ( = 5); (3) Existence of Policies/Procedures/Guidelines ( = 5); (4) Quality and Patient Safety Management ( = 9); (5) Perceived Effect of Quality Improvement ( = 7) and (6) Training and Development Opportunities ( = 5).

Introduction: To compare the reproducibility of pulmonary pulse wave velocity (PWV) techniques, and the effects of age and exercise on these.

Methods: 10 young healthy volunteers (YHV) and 20 older healthy volunteers (OHV) with no cardiac or lung condition were recruited. High temporal resolution phase contrast sequences were performed through the main pulmonary arteries (MPAs), right pulmonary arteries (RPAs) and left pulmonary arteries (LPAs), while high spatial resolution sequences were obtained through the MPA.
