A novel Project ECHO curriculum on older adult pain management and opioid use disorder for outpatient clinicians.

Chronic pain, opioid use, and opioid use disorder (OUD) are increasingly common in older adults. Outpatient clinician education may improve outcomes. Our aim was to create and evaluate a novel curriculum for outpatient clinicians on older adult pain management, opioid prescribing, and OUD leveraging Project ECHO®, a model for delivering subspecialized medical knowledge to community outpatient clinicians via videoconferencing.

Improving the management of chronic pain, opioid use, and opioid use disorder in older adults: study protocol for I-COPE study.

Background: Older adults with chronic pain, opioid use, and opioid use disorder (OUD) present complex management decisions in primary care. Clinical tools are needed to improve care delivery. This study protocol describes the planned implementation and evaluation of I-COPE (Improving Chicago Older Adult Opioid and Pain Management through Patient-centered Clinical Decision Support and Project ECHO®) to improve care for this population.

Palliative care in Uganda: quantitative descriptive study of key palliative care indicators 2018-2020.

Background: The first and most recent nationwide audit of palliative care services in Uganda was conducted in 2009. Since then, Uganda has made great strides in palliative care development, including policy, education, and services implementation. This study provides an overview of the availability of palliative care services in the country and the challenges and gaps in Uganda prior to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Magnetic resonance cholangiography: past, present and future: a review.

Introduction: Magnetic resonance cholangio-pancreatography (MRCP) is a valuable method for the evaluation of biliary and pancreatic diseases and a valuable alternative to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). It is noninvasive and does not require the use of contrast material or ionizing radiation. Since its introduction in 1991, this technique has significantly improved in spatial resolution, now allowing the accurate assessment of the major bilio-pancreatic diseases.

Preoperative T and N staging of gastric cancer: magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) versus multi detector computed tomography (MDCT).

Background And Aim: Multi Detector Computed Tomography (MDCT) is widely used in the preoperative staging of gastric cancer. MRI has an emerging role in the evaluation of intestinal diseases, although its role in the staging of gastric cancers is still to be defined. The aim of our study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of MDCT and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis and preoperative staging of gastric cancer, in comparison with histopathology.
