To evaluate functional visceral adipose tissue (VAT) activity assessed by F-fluorodeoxyglucose ( F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) as a predictive factor of metastases in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. We reviewed study protocols and PET/CT data of 534 CRC patients; 474 patients were subsequently excluded for various reasons. The remaining 60 patients with histologically confirmed adenocarcinoma were then prospectively assessed and were exposed to F-FDG PET/CT after a surgical treatment and chemoradiotherapy.

The paper substantiates a need for specific regulation of biological waste products due to their high potential danger to the environment. Being governed by the normative legal acts on the provision of the population with sanitary-and-epidemiological well-being, adopted by the federal executive bodies and the federal executive bodies of the subject of the Russian Federation, the Inspectorate for the Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare in the Republic of Bashkortostan is competent to supervise and control the activity of enterprises and institutions, the conditions and procedures for collection, usage, decontamination, transportation, storage and disposal of waste products and utilization in accordance with the current sanitary rules and regulations. As a result, the authors took part in the elaboration of several long-term programs and resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan Government, realization of which will reduce the impact of environmental pollution on human health.

The results of 20 patients (with odontogenic phlegmon of maxillofacial region) treatment by glycosaminosulphate were compared with the results of patients received traditional treatment. Significant speeding-up of the blood indices normalization terms, humoral immunity factors and postoperative wound regeneration after odontogenic phlegmon of maxillofacial region lancing was determined.

The functional activity of peripheral blood neutrophils was studied by their main functional and metabolic parameters. The group of chronic brucellosis patients under study included 32 patients. The control group consisted of 35 practically healthy donors.
