Objective: Post-traumatic tibial bone defects represent a significant challenge to orthopedic surgeons. Various reconstructive methods are available based on associated local soft tissue injury and defect size. Free vascularized fibular graft represents a major successful technique; combined with a rigid Ilizarov external fixator, it allows safe, immediate postoperative weight bearing.

Challenges prescribing and dispensing oral antibiotics with poor palatability for paediatric patients: A qualitative interview study with GPs and pharmacists.

Background: Poor palatability of antibiotics is a key cause for non-adherence to antibiotic treatment among children. Failure to complete antibiotic treatment because of poor palatability can cause disease recurrence and may contribute to increasing rates of antimicrobial resistance. The aim of this study was to investigate the experience and challenges faced by general practitioners (GPs) and community pharmacists regarding prescribing and dispensing oral liquid antibiotics for children and the impact of poorly palatable antibiotic formulations on patients and the health-system.

Learning complex nonlinear dynamics of a 3D translational parallel manipulator using neural network.

This study investigates modeling the dynamics of a 3D translational parallel manipulator with closed chains using feedforward neural networks (FFNNs). The dataset exceeds 50,000 samples, incorporating experimental data collected from a robot prototype using MATLAB® real-time workshop and the National Instruments DAQ toolbox, as well as CAD simulation data from MSC ADAMS software. While achieving satisfactory mean squared error (MSE), some predictions did not fully capture the manipulator's dynamics, with small overfitting observed.

An integrated remote sensing, petrology, and field geology analyses for Neoproterozoic basement rocks in some parts of the southern Egyptian-Nubian Shield.

The main objective of this study was to use deep learning, and convolutional neural networks (CNN), integrated with field geology to identify distinct lithological units. The Samadia-Tunduba region of the South Eastern Desert of Egypt was mapped geologically for the first time thanks to the use of processed developed CNN algorithms using Landsat 9 OLI-2, which were further enhanced by geological fieldwork, spectral measurements of field samples, and petrographic examination. According to previously published papers, a significant difference was observed in the distribution of rocks and their boundaries, as well as the previously published geological maps that were not accurately compatible with the nature of the area.
