To battle seasonal outbreaks of influenza B virus infection, which continue to pose a major threat to world health, new and improved vaccines are urgently needed. In this article, we discuss the current state of next-generation influenza B vaccine development, including both advancements and challenges. This review covers the shortcomings of existing influenza vaccines and stresses the need for more-effective and broadly protective vaccines and more-easily scalable manufacturing processes.

Radiation dose and diagnostic image quality are opposing constraints in x-ray CT. Conventional methods do not fully account for organ-level radiation dose and noise when considering radiation risk and clinical task. In this work, we develop a pipeline to generate individualized organ-specific dose and noise at desired dose levels from clinical CT scans.

Women sports wearer's comfort and health are greatly impacted by the breast movements and resultant sports bra compression to prevent excessive movement. However, as sports bras are only made in universal sizes, they do not offer the right kind of support that is required for a certain activity. To prevent this issue, textile-based strain sensors may be utilized to track compression throughout various activities to create activity-specific designed sports bras.

Osteosarcoma is a malignant tumor, derived from primitive bone-forming mesenchymal cells, and its aggressive nature often leads to significant morbidity and mortality, with amputation being routinely performed in localized cases. Post-amputation morbidity has a significant impact on the quality of life of the affected individuals. The tumor frequently metastasizes to the lungs and bones, and widespread disease remains the leading cause of most patient deaths.
