Introduction: With nationwide movement toward an integrated medical home, evidence to support, compare, and specify effective models for collaboration between primary care and behavioral health professionals is essential. This study compared 2 models of primary care with behavioral health integration on American Academy of Pediatrics guideline adherence for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) assessment and treatment.
Method: We conducted a retrospective chart review of a random sample of children aged 6-13 years, seen for ADHD services in 2 primary care offices, 1 fully integrated model and 1 co-located service only model, comparing ADHD assessment and treatment practices.

Until recently its extreme genetic heterogeneity precluded comprehensive genetic testing. Using a platform that couples targeted genomic enrichment (TGE) and massively parallel sequencing (MPS) to sequence all exons of all genes implicated in NSHL, we tested 100 persons with presumed genetic NSHL and in so doing established sequencing requirements for maximum sensitivity and defined MPS quality score metrics that obviate Sanger validation of variants.

To make effective use of sequencer output, barcoding and sample pooling (multiplexing) after TGE and prior to sequencing (post-capture multiplexing) has become routine. While previous reports have indicated that multiplexing prior to capture (pre-capture multiplexing) is feasible, no thorough examination of the effect of this method has been completed on a large number of samples.

Seventy 3 mm punch biopsies were taken from 53 burn wounds in 33 children between 7 months and 15 years of age at the time of planned operative debridement and grafting. After fixation and sectioning, immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining was performed for CD34, pro-collagen I, alpha smooth muscle actin, transforming growth factor beta1 and Leucocyte Specific Protein-1 (LSP-1).
