Characterization and comparison of immunity against MPXV for individuals infected with MPXV or vaccinated with modified vaccinia Ankara vaccines.

The 2022 Mpox virus (MPXV) outbreak revitalized questions about immunity against MPXV and vaccinia-based vaccines (VAC-V), but studies are limited. We analyzed immunity against MPXV in individuals infected with MPXV or vaccinated with the licensed modified vaccinia Ankara (MVA) Bavarian Nordic or an experimental MVA-HIVB vaccine. The frequency of neutralizing antibody responders was higher among MPXV-infected individuals than MVA vaccinees.

A20/Tnfaip3, an early NF-κB response gene and key negative regulator of NF-κB signaling, suppresses proinflammatory responses. Its ubiquitinase and deubiquitinase activities mediate proteasomal degradation within the NF-κB pathway. This study investigated the involvement of A20 signaling alterations in podocytes in the development of kidney injury.

We study generalization of intervention effects across several simulated and real-world samples. We start by formulating the concept of the 'background' of a sample effect observation. We then formulate conditions for effect generalization based on a sample's set of (observed and unobserved) backgrounds.

Effect of Telemedicine Interventions on Heart Failure Hospitalizations: A Randomized Trial.

Background: Telemedicine interventions (TMIs) for heart failure (HF) can reduce hospitalizations and deaths. It is unclear if low literacy and limited access to technology in low- and middle-income countries affect these benefits. We evaluated whether TMIs added to usual care could reduce HF-related rehospitalizations in patients discharged from hospitals in Brazil.

Background: Cell differentiation during development is orchestrated by precisely coordinated gene expression programs. While some regulatory mechanisms are well understood, there is a significant room to explore unresolved aspects of lineage choice and cell-fate decisions, as many events in these processes are still not fully elucidated. Given that, gene expression is influenced not only by transcriptional control but also by post-transcriptional events.
