Reporting characteristics of systematic reviews in Psychology: A scoping review.

This article describes the reporting characteristics of systematic reviews (SRs) in Psychology. The inclusion criteria were self-declared SRs in all branches of Psychology, published between 2019 and 2020. The search was performed in the PsycINFO and MEDLINE databases, from which 2487 records were identified, and 305 papers selected.

Classism and dehumanization in chronic pain: A qualitative study of nurses' inferences about women of different socio-economic status.

Objectives: Class-based dehumanization in health is poorly investigated. Beliefs about social class are often shared across cultures, with people of lower socio-economic status (SES) being typically dehumanized. This study specifically examined how nurses' perceptions of pain patients' SES were associated with (more or less) dehumanizing inferences about their pain and different treatment recommendations.

Obese children are thin in parents' eyes: A psychologically, socially, or culturally driven bias?

Although obesity presents a serious health problem in children, parents often underestimate their children's overweight and obesity status. Therefore, scientific literature was systematically screened through PubMed and PsycINFO to demonstrate the psychological, social, and cultural processes that underlie this evaluation bias. A total of 37 papers that focused on research conducted in different geopolitical contexts were taken into account.

[Social representations of TB patients on treatment discontinuation].

Objective: To understand the social representations of people with TB who discontinued treatment in a Program of Tuberculosis Control.

Method: a descriptive study of qualitative approach conducted in the city of Lima, Peru. Data were collected from October to November 2012, through semi-structured interviews with eight individuals and the method used was thematic content analysis.

Social representations, risk behaviors and AIDS.

This study's interest relies on adolescents' social representations of unprotected sex, more precisely on the relationship between the attitude towards the preservative and the reason attribution for its non use. 1386 secondary school students took part in the study, in the Brazilian cities of Florianópolis, Itajaí and Balneário Camboriú. In order to verify reasons attributed by the students, we focused on the sample that had sexual experiences without using the condom during last year.
