Establishing a cerebral palsy registry in Kuwait: An exploratory study.

Background: Cerebral palsy (CP), the most common motor disability in childhood, comprises a group of permanent non-progressive disorders affecting the antenatal, neonatal, or early postnatal development of areas in the brain responsible for posture and movement. Registries for children with CP, or surveillance programs, have been a source of consistently increasing research productivity; 38 related articles were published in 2013. In Kuwait, a CP registry would provide baseline information on children with CP and their parents.

Traumatic orthopedic consultations in COVID-19 inpatients - A cross sectional analysis of results and a review of lessons in tele-orthopedics.

Introduction: COVID-19 has led to intricate global challenges, among these, the impact on emergency and elective orthopedic services. Patients with COVID-19 often complain of musculoskeletal symptoms. The subsequent orthopedic consultations require careful assessment of possible inpatient trauma and to rule out any injuries that require active management.

Caregivers' perceptions and experience of caring for persons with Down syndrome in Kuwait: a qualitative study.

This study aimed to explore how caregivers of persons with Down syndrome (DS) believe caring had an impact on their own lives. A secondary objective was to understand their experience of seeking educational, social, and health care services for the persons with DS. This qualitative exploratory study was conducted with 21 caregivers of persons with DS in Kuwait.

Innovative design of 3D-printed nasopharyngeal pediatric swab for COVID-19 detection.

3-dimensional (3D) printing technology provides a solution to meet the high demand for producing adult nasal swabs. A smaller, more flexible nasopharyngeal swab needs to be developed for children and infants suspected of having coronavirus. The information shared here presents a novel 3D-printed pediatric swab for the purpose of collecting upper respiratory clinical specimens.

Analytical and Early Detection System of Infectious Diseases and Animal Health Status in Kuwait.

This study aimed at the development of an analytic web-based system for the assessment of animal health in Kuwait. The data sources were based on the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and the World Animal Health Information System (WAHIS) repository with data gathered for the period (2005-2020). An on-line web-based system using TABLEAU Creator was developed for monitoring and surveillance of animal disease outbreaks.
