SAP18 protein was originally discovered in association with the SIN3 transcriptional repressor complex. Subsequent biochemical fractionation studies identified SAP18 as a component of another distinct trimeric complex termed as the apoptosis- and splicing-associated protein (ASAP) complex. The existence of SAP18 in distinct complexes highlights its dual role in transcriptional and splicing regulation.

Sesquiterpene lactones (SLs) such as parthenolide (PTL) and dehydroleucodine (DhL) selectively kill cancer cells without exerting normal tissue toxicity, potentially due to presence of α-methylene-γ-lactone (αMγL) fragment. We hypothesize that the addition of an azido group to the αMγL fragment of PTL or DhL further augments their anticancer properties as well as radiation sensitivity of cancer cells. Azido-SLs containing the azido group at the C14 methyl position of PTL (i.

Quantum states picked from nontrivial symmetry-protected topological (SPT) phases have computational power in measurement-based quantum computation. This power is uniform across SPT phases, and is unlocked by measurements that break the symmetry. Except at special points in the phase, all computational schemes known to date place these symmetry-breaking measurements far apart, to avoid the correlations introduced by spurious, nonuniversal entanglement.

Dose rate is one of the important parameters in radiation-induced biomolecular damage. The effects of dose rate have been known to modify radiation toxicity in biological systems. The rate and extent of sublethal DNA damage (e.

Objectives Whether a higher or lower partial pressure of oxygen (PaO) could impact outcomes in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) remains a matter of debate. So, we planned this retrospective analysis to determine if a higher or lower partial pressure of oxygen in blood had any effect on outcomes in COVID-19 patients. Material and method The records of COVID-19 patients from the beginning of 2020 to the end of 2022 were scanned.
