Neutrophils can efficiently trigger cytotoxicity toward tumor cells and other target cells upon engagement of the IgA receptor CD89. However, the cell-intrinsic factors that influence the induction of cell death upon exposure to neutrophil effector mechanisms in vivo remain largely unknown. To uncover genetic regulators that influence target cell sensitivity to IgA-induced neutrophil-mediated killing, we used a human CD89 (hCD89) transgenic mouse model in which IgA-mediated killing of Her2-positive CD47-deficient murine target cells is mediated by neutrophils.

Background: Although germline BRCA mutations have been associated with adverse outcomes in prostate cancer (PC), understanding of the association between somatic/germline alterations in homologous recombination repair (HRR) genes and treatment outcomes in metastatic castration-resistant PC (mCRPC) is limited. Body social models of disability: Examining enactive and ecological approaches.

Autistic philosopher and neurodiversity proponent Robert Chapman (2021) argues that disability may be best understood by utilizing an ecological functional model where the focus is on the intersection and overlaps between relational contributions to collectives and group functioning with individual functionality. This presents an alternative to both social-relational models of disability advocated by other neurodiversity proponents and the orthodox medical model of disability. While enactivists such as Michelle Maiese and Juan Toro, Julian Kiverstein and Erik Rietveld have also offered relational models of disability that challenge the orthodox medical model, I argue that unlike the ecological functional model, these enactivist models remain problematically committed to an individualist methodology.

Conspiracy theories have accompanied vaccination since its mass introduction, circulating, among other forms, in humour - such as cartoons, and now, memes. Importantly, humour has targeted both vaccination and anti-vaccination stances. In this study, we discuss the peculiarities of humorous content within the vaccination debate and uncover the most popular thematic categories, forms and logical mechanisms of humour.
