Substance P (SP), a neuropeptide primarily released by neurons, has emerged as a key player in the intricate network of factors governing periodontal inflammation, immune responses, bone metabolism, and tissue regeneration. Due to its multifaceted role, it may be explored for its potential participation in periodontal therapeutic strategies. The databases, PubMed/MEDLINE, and SCOPUS were searched for all published articles on SP, its role in inflammation, and periodontal disease.

Advancements in digital imaging and video processing are often challenged by low-light environments, leading to degraded visual quality. This affects critical sectors such as medical imaging, aerospace, and underwater exploration, where uneven lighting can compromise safety and clarity. To enhance image quality in low-light conditions using a computationally efficient system.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to determine the effectiveness and safety of starting direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) early versus delayed in patients with acute ischaemic stroke and atrial fibrillation.
  • Conducted as a multicenter, randomized controlled trial across 100 UK hospitals, 3,648 patients were initially assigned to either early initiation (within 4 days) or delayed initiation (7-14 days) of anticoagulation.

The sudden epidemic of mucormycosis amid COVID-19 pandemic has significantly challenged our understanding of the disease while affecting the whole medical and surgical management. Overzealous use of steroids in the management of covid-19 and uncontrolled diabetes mellitus has resulted in a tremendous rise in mucormycosis cases further burdening the already strained health care infrastructure and health care workers, especially the anesthesiologists. While working in a tertiary care institute of the country, we have been facing multiple challenges in its anesthetic management on a daily basis.

Denoising, skull stripping, segmentation, feature extraction, and classification are five important processes in this paper's development of a brain tumor classification model. The brain tumor image will be imposed first using the entropy-based trilateral filter to de-noising and this image is imposed to skull stripping by means of morphological partition and Otsu thresholding. Adaptive contrast limited fuzzy adaptive histogram equalization (CLFAHE) is also used in the segmentation process.
