Background: Resource allocation for stroke care was impacted worldwide by the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID19) pandemic. Regionally, worsened stroke outcomes varied, however comparative year-over-year in-hospital performance metrics from the pandemic are unreported. Therefore, within the large Florida Stroke Registry (FSR), we assessed the pandemic's effects upon the American Heart Association (AHA) Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) ischemic stroke metrics and the meta-metric, Defect-Free Care (DFC).

Objectives: The SDMPH 10-year anniversary conference created an opportunity for a researcher to present at a professional association conference to advance their research by seeking consensus of statements using Delphi methodology.

Methods: Conference attendees and SDMPH members who did not attend the conference were identified as Delphi experts. Experts rated their agreement of each statement on a 7- point linear numeric scale.

Background: Pyuria is nonspecific and may result in over-treatment of asymptomatic bacteriuria (ASB). The Infectious Diseases Society of America recommends against antibiotic treatment of ASB for most patients including those presenting with altered mental status (AMS). Close observation is recommended over treatment to avoid missing alternative causes of AMS and overuse of antibiotics resulting in adverse events and resistance.
