Objectives: To assess recent trends in antipsychotic use among older adults with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRDs) according to their residential status and determine the factors associated with the use of antipsychotics.
Design: Population-based, cross-sectional study using Texas Medicare Fee-for-Service data.
Setting And Participants: Individuals ≥ 65 years of age with ADRDs who had at least 3 months of Medicare Part A and B, and Part D for prescription drug coverage, in any year between 2015 and 2020.
Purpose: Resting beat-to-beat blood pressure variability is a strong predictor of cardiovascular events and mortality. However, its underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Given that the sympathetic nervous system plays a pivotal role in cardiovascular regulation, we hypothesized that alpha-1 adrenergic receptors (the main sympathetic receptor controlling peripheral vasoconstriction) may contribute to resting beat-to-beat blood pressure variability.

One approach to further enhance stem cell differentiation methods would be to coordinate multiple inducible gene or protein switches to operate simultaneously within the same cell, with minimal cross-interference, to precisely regulate a network of lineage-specifying transcription factors (TFs) to guide cell fate decisions. Therefore, in this study, we designed and tested various mammalian gene and protein switches responsive to clinically safe small-molecule inhibitors of viral proteases.

Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, we systematically searched databases for studies measuring BDNF in glioma patients and controls. After screening and data extraction, we conducted quality assessment, meta-analysis, and meta-regression.
The olive oil industry generates large volumes of by-products, creating notable environmental and economic concerns. Among these, olive cake (OC)-a primary by-product of olive oil extraction-stands out due to its high content of bioactive compounds and potential for value-added recycling. This study focused on characterizing six OC samples from the Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro regions, collected at different processing times and mills.
